Cited runs your buyer questions across all six major AI engines and records how each one answers: whether your brand appears, how often, and which brands get recommended in your place. That becomes your baseline, the starting point every later result is measured against.
How the AI visibility audit works
Before any publishing, Cited builds a picture of where you stand. It maps 40 to 80 high-intent questions your buyers ask, then checks how ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, Grok, and Google AI Overviews currently respond to them.
For each question, it records three things: do you show up at all, how often, and who the AI names instead of you. That last point is valuable, because knowing which competitors the AI recommends tells you exactly who you are up against for the answer.
Why a baseline matters
Without a starting point, you cannot tell whether anything is working. The baseline turns vague impressions into a real number: your starting share of voice across the questions that matter. For many brands that number begins low, sometimes at zero, which is precisely the gap to close.
Every result after that is measured as the change from this baseline, so you can see progress rather than guess at it.
Checking across all engines
The audit spans all six engines on purpose, because they behave differently and favor different sources. You might be present on one and absent on another. Seeing all of them shows where you are weakest and where the work should focus first.
A fast version of this
If you want a quick look before committing, the free AI visibility check on gocited.ai scores one brand across all six engines in about a minute, with no signup. It is a smaller version of the same baseline idea.
